DESCRIPTION:WONDER-ful Wednesday Activity:\nBook: African Proverbs for All Ages by Johnetta Betsch Cole and Nelda LaTeet\nActivity: Having begun our Love Excludes No Things (LENT) curricula on Sunday, we’ll watch a clip from Wicked where Elphaba attempts to empower her sister NessaRose by telling everyone she doesn’t need help, including Galinda. We learn the world sees these two females, Elphaba and Nessa as either beautifully tragic or tragically beautiful. There are no other options for these sisters in the eyes of their community. They always live in wilderness, unable to simply be seen as whole just as they are. But we learned in reading that we grow when we embrace more than just our way of viewing the world! We will make Holy Listening Stones to take home that remind us how important it is to see the world and people’s needs from their perspective, not just our own.\n
