DESCRIPTION:Book: Let The Children March by Monica Clark-Robinson. We will read a true story of how children marched for those adults who would lose their jobs if they marched for liberation. We will also discuss the Ruth and Naomi’s story, how to very different people, and indeed an outsider female, stood alongside her chosen family to ensure safety and freedom for them both.\nActivity: Lego! To go along with our February Watch theme, we will watch scenes from the 2014 movie Selma and look for connections between the children in our book, Ruth’s determination and resolve, and King’s decision to not cross the Selma bridge after amassing such allyship from such diverse people groups. We’ll consider how this relates to God’s Dream of Beloved Community, and then make Lego versions of what Community means and looks like for Omaha.\n
