Race Relations: Civic & Community Engagement

Race Relations: Civic & Community Engagement

the Commons - Door #4

time 6:30 pm

October 23, 2018

We are surrounded by systems of inequality–what are we doing about it? How are you making a difference? What is keeping you from speaking out when you see racism? Join a group of people who feel a calling to overcome barriers that get in the way of civic and community engagement. We are excited to hear from Dr. Nikitah Imani, professor of Black Studies at University of Nebraska Omaha, and then engage in small group discussions followed by a large group exploration moderated by Douglas County’s Disproportionate Minority Contact Coordinator, A’Jamal Byndon. This event is FREE, including dinner catered by Big Mama’s Big Kitchen!

Registration is free, but we ask all to RSVP for the dinner order. Please register here.
