Dr. Imani joins us Sunday, January 20 at both services for a special MLK Service you will not want to miss!

Dr. Nikitah Okembe-RA Imani is the professor and chair of the Department of Black Studies. Before joining the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2012, he taught Sociology and Africana Studies at James Madison University. Dr. Imani earned Doctorate and Masters of Arts degrees in Sociology and a Masters of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Florida. Dr. Imani is on the editorial board for two journals, Critical Sociology and the Journal of Racial Pedagogy. He is a veteran of more than 18 years of activism in Black nationalist and Pan-Aficanist movements in dealing with various components of race, class, gender, nationality, language, and religion.
