The Clumsy
Clown Club
-
A Servant Ministry of
Elementary Age Children
-
- Fun and
laughter abounds during the Clumsy Clown gatherings. This clown club is not
just a novelty but a very important ministry that points to God. Christian
clowns are about the business of being in servant ministry. They are fools
for Christ. Christian clowns reach down and lift others up. They are weak
so others can be strong. Clowns find that the most powerful persons are those
who give power away.
-
- Clowning,
like our faith, is a transforming journey. The clowns will take on new
names. These names usually reflect something about themselves. They will
leave their old self behind and with the use of makeup, wigs, and costumes
will take on a new identity.

Once
a person is transformed into a clown they become agents of transformation.
Clowns don't change a situation but can transform them. In the transformation
process they take the common and simple and raise them to new heights of
possibility and meaning through fun and laughter. When clowns go into a
hospital room the person doesn't become suddenly well but the situation
becomes one where their illness is transcended for a moment.
